For 99% of Divx's & Xvid's which played on this machine via Media center, computer is start working, and then "not responding andbeing closed" appear.

If your videos are one of the correct formats for iTunes then it's a simple case of drag and drop but you can't drag and drop something that won't work (avi's divx's xvid's etc ...

I've got no problems whatsoever with AVI's, XVID's or MKV's. They passthrough just fine. But WMV's just don't work in passthrough mode . Regards,

In order to properly watch most avi’s, xvid’s, and other compressed video formats one needs to upgrade their codecs and/or simply download a new media player such as VLC.

I recently built a PC solely for the purpose of using it as a HTPC, constantly hooked to TV, for playback of MKV's , XVID's and eventually Blu-ray Discs.

Winamp 5.x works for most windows platforms, and can play divx's, xvid's, mp3's, ogg's, m4a's, etc. divx codec (not needed if you use Winamp) xvid codec (bonus)
